I offer life insurance planning whether you are looking personal or corporate insurance. Life insurance can be looked at in term, whole life or universal life options. When assessing how much life insurance one needs I look at the amount of debt, final expenses, estate taxes, income replacement and leaving extra to those you love. Life insurance is also available to children as a way to guarantee insurability for them if they were to develop an illness before becoming an adult; with insurance already in place they can carry it into adulthood with no medical underwriting going forward.
I offer disability insurance planning. Disability is designed to pay you a monthly tax free benefit for an injury and or an illness. Assessing your disability needs is based on your income and your occupation. We also need to look at your group benefits to see if and how much you are covered for. Not all benefit plans offer disability and if they do they may not offer what you are entitled. I will read through your benefit plan and help you decide how you could add to this so that if anything were to happen you are getting the monthly amount you need.
I offer critical illness planning; this can be done for personal or corporate needs. Critical illness is also available for your children and could cover things like autism, type 1 diabetes and bacterial meningitis along with 34 other illnesses. You may want this insurance for your kids to help pay for your time off of work, daycare for the other kids, parking, eating at the hospital, etc. Critical illness is a lump sum of tax free cash given to you in the event that you have a critical illness. A critical illness are things like life threatening cancer, heart attack, stroke, severe burns, occupational HIV, blindness, deafness, loss of limbs, etc. There are many different covered illnesses. Where this comes in handy is this pays out 30 days after diagnosis and will help pay for unexpected things. Perhaps, you need to take treatment outside of Canada, or need to take a prescription drug that is not covered by your benefit plan or Alberta Health Care. Perhaps, it pays for daycare or time off of work for you and/or your spouse that your spouse can take care of you during recovery. Corporate need would be so that you can pay someone to run your company while you are recovering. This is important so that you still have a business and clients to return to.
I offer long term care insurance planning. This insurance is to help with at home or facility care needs. It will pay a monthly lump sum in the event that you need these services. Long term care can be quite costly and so it is best to have some sort of plan around that.
Travel Insurance is important if you are travelling. It is always best to make sure you have emergency travel insurance so that if you have anything happen to you you are covered. Ending up in the hospital in another country can be quite costly, possibly even to the point of bankruptcy! Make sure you always have travel insurance.
I offer business overhead expense insurance. This type of insurance is available to companies and is a disability type of insurance. This covers certain monthly expenses for the company when the insured is disabled. The idea behind this is when the owner or the main key person; whoever is insured and driving the sales, is on disability that means the sales and the income of the company are down. The company takes a hit there and also will take a hit if there has to be a temporary person filling in due to training until that key person is back to work. With the company taking a hit having this insurance in place helps cushion that income loss.
I offer the funding strategies of buy-sell agreements. A buy-sell agreement is a contract drafted up by a lawyer and the owners of a company stating certain agreements pertaining to certain things and events that could affect the business and the partnership. Buy-sell agreements protect each partner in the business and funding those agreements is the key part to having a successful buy-sell agreement. So, if it says that there is life insurance, disability or critical illness needed by each partner then I can put those in place for you as per your agreement.
